Travel Guide for Our Wedding

We’re so excited to have you join us for our special day! To help make your travel plans smooth and enjoyable, here’s everything you need to know about getting to Charleston and finding the perfect place to stay.

Getting to Charleston

The closest airport to our wedding venue is Charleston International Airport (CHS). CHS offers numerous direct flights from major cities, making it an easy and convenient destination. From the airport, Johns Island is about a 30-40 minute drive, depending on traffic. Rental cars, Ubers, and Lyfts are all available for transportation.

Where to Stay

Our wedding will take place on Johns Island, so we recommend staying in the nearby areas to make your trip as seamless as possible. Here are some great accommodation options:

Airbnb & Vacation Rentals – There are plenty of charming rental properties available on Johns Island and the surrounding areas, offering a more private and home-like experience.

James Island & West Ashley Hotels – Both of these areas are close to Johns Island and provide convenient access to the wedding venue. They offer a mix of well-known hotel chains and boutique options.

Folly Beach – If you're looking for a beachfront stay, Folly Beach is a great option. It’s about a 30-minute drive to Johns Island and offers a fun, laid-back atmosphere with ocean views, beachside bars, and cozy rentals.

Downtown Charleston – If you’d like to immerse yourself in the historic beauty of Charleston, downtown is the place to be! You’ll find a variety of accommodations ranging from luxury hotels to quaint bed & breakfasts. While it's a bit further from Johns Island, staying downtown gives you the opportunity to explore Charleston’s rich history, charming streets, and award-winning restaurants.

Exploring Charleston

If you’re making a weekend out of it, we highly recommend exploring Downtown Charleston! Walk along King Street for shopping and dining, visit the Battery and Rainbow Row for iconic Charleston views, or take a historic carriage ride through the city. The beaches of Folly Beach or Sullivan’s Island are also fantastic spots to soak up some sun before or after the wedding festivities.

Getting Around

Charleston is a very drivable city, but Uber and Lyft are readily available if you prefer to leave the car behind. If you're staying downtown, walking is a great way to take in the charm of the city!
